The vagus nerve represents the main component of the parasympathetic nervous system, which is what we work to mobilize.

When we feel unsafe we are in the fight, flight, freeze or fawn response which triggers whether we are in real danger or just experience modern life to be like a battleground.

Neuroscience explains that we can rewrite negative thinking, feelings, and experience by stimulating the pleasure response. Given the pain and pleasure receptors are on the same neuro pathway, we get to choose which one we activate. 

Throughought this course, we work to stimulate dopamine with self-care rituals, serotonin for stabilizing the mood and we encourage endorphin release, by movement and relaxation.

By meeting the body regularly with tenderness we release the 'love' hormone oxytocin, reminding us that life is beautiful and the body is safe.
